Viral Video Cloner recreates a reference video with your own person, product, clothing, location, or footage. It can preserve the original motion, replace part or all of the picture, or borrow the reference’s editing approach. Video remakes run in ChatCut Desktop 0.8.7 or later.

## When should I use Viral Video Cloner?

Use it when you have a reference video and want one of these results:

- **Replace something in the picture.** Keep the reference’s motion, camera work, background, other people, and existing text while changing a named person, product, or item of clothing.
- **Rebuild the whole picture.** Keep the motion and shot timing, but use your reference images and a new plan to change the people, location, or visual style.
- **Copy the editing approach, not the pixels.** Use your own footage for the content while borrowing the reference’s cut rhythm, transitions, captions, motion graphics, B-roll treatment, music, sound effects, and color approach.

### Targeted replacement example

The original shot, one reference photo of the new car, and the recreated shot. Everything except the car stays as filmed.

### Full rebuild example

The motion and camera move stay the same. The person, vehicle, and location come from three reference photos.

You can combine approaches. For example, remake the picture first, then recreate the reference’s caption treatment on the result. A request with several sections can use a different approach for each section.

Do not use this Skill when you have no reference video or only want to clone a voice. It is not a promise to reproduce every visual detail exactly.

## What do I need before I start?

Provide the reference video as an upload or a link, plus the material that should appear in the new video. Label your assets clearly: reference video, replacement footage, person, product, clothing, location, or style image.

For each replacement subject, prepare a clear reference image. Use a front-facing photo for a person, and add matching side or back photos when those angles appear in the reference. With only a front photo, the generated subject may turn toward the camera.

Also decide what must stay unchanged. This helps the Agent choose between a targeted replacement and a full rebuild. ChatCut retries brief network errors on its own, but it cannot download private, members-only, login-only, age-restricted, region-locked or DRM-protected videos, or live streams. For those, upload the file instead.

Video remakes require a ChatCut membership and cannot be generated by a free account. Eligibility and the current credit estimate come from your account and the confirmation shown for the job. See [Credits and billing](https://pr-798-preview.chatcut.dev/docs/credits-policy).

## How do I run it?

1. Open **Skills** in the AI composer and select **Viral Video Cloner**, or open its Skill page and choose **Use this Skill**. Confirm that it is attached to your draft.
2. Add the reference and your replacement assets, then describe what you want to keep and change. Selecting the Skill alone does not start the work.
3. Answer any missing-input questions. When the necessary material is present, the Agent chooses the approach, range, and settings, then states the plan and likely visual limitations.
4. Approve paid generation before it starts. Inside ChatCut, a confirmation card shows the duration, cost, and final generation instructions. In an external Agent Plugin session, there is no ChatCut confirmation card, so the Agent must first tell you the selected section, duration, and estimated credits, then wait for your agreement.
5. Review the resulting video asset. Ask the Agent to place it on a timeline or export it only if you want those next steps.

### Fill in the form

The Skill opens with a short form, the same one you see in ChatCut Desktop. Use it to attach the reference and your replacement assets, then send.

Try the form

Try the Viral Video Cloner form on its [Skill page](https://pr-798-preview.chatcut.dev/skills/viral-video-cloner).

[](https://pr-798-preview.chatcut.dev/skills/viral-video-cloner)

| Field | What to put in it |
| --- | --- |
| **Reference video** (required) | **Link**: paste a YouTube, Instagram, or other video link. **File**: upload the video instead, for example when the link is private or region-locked |
| **Your materials** (optional) | Photos or footage of the person, product, or scene that should appear. Add side or back photos when those angles appear in the reference |
| **How should we recreate it?** | What to keep and what to change, in your own words. For example: “Keep the original moves, put me in the lead and set it on a beach” |

Select **Recreate** to send it. The Agent then chooses the method and settings, and shows the duration and cost for your approval before anything is generated.

## Prompts you can copy

Prompt

```text
Use @reference-ad and @product-front to recreate the clip with my bottle in place of the original product. Keep the background, other people, and on-screen text unchanged. Show me the duration and estimated credits before any paid generation.
```

Prompt

```text
Recreate @dance-reference with @my-front-photo and @my-side-photo. Rebuild the full scene using @style-reference, keep the original motion, and use 720p. Ask for my approval before generation.
```

Prompt

```text
Use @reference-edit only as an editing reference. Cut @my-footage with similar pacing, captions, transitions, and music, but choose timings that fit my content. Do not generate new video.
```

## What does ChatCut do for me?

The Agent inspects the reference before choosing a method. For a remake, it reviews shot boundaries and frames, identifies every appearance of the subject being replaced, and writes a plan for the new video. For a full-picture rebuild, that plan describes what each shot should contain; for a targeted replacement, it identifies both the original subject and the replacement.

For an editing-only recreation, the Agent breaks down why each editing technique appears where it does. It then finds moments in your footage that serve the same purpose rather than copying the reference’s timestamps mechanically, and compares the result with the reference.

You do not need to make routine method and settings choices yourself. You do need to supply missing material, resolve membership or credit requirements, approve paid generation, and review the visual result. If only one shot is wrong, ask for that section to be revised rather than paying to remake the whole video again.

## What do I get?

A remake is delivered as a new video asset in the current project. It can then be placed on a timeline for more editing or exported when you request a file. An editing-only recreation produces an edit built from your own footage, using the reference for structure and packaging.

The result remains a starting point for review. You can ask for a different reference image, a targeted replacement instead of a full rebuild, restored caption packaging, or a correction to a particular shot.

## What are the limits and tips?

- Both remake methods retain the original subject’s pose, outline, and size. A replacement with a very different shape or size can look unnatural; a closer reference shape usually helps.
- Targeted replacement preserves unlisted content, including burned-in captions and watermarks, but a replacement person may retain some of the original face shape.
- A full rebuild can change the location or style and can make a person resemble their reference photo more closely. Content without a reference image is only approximately recreated.
- Small text and logos can disappear during a full rebuild, while large text can become garbled. Use targeted replacement when specific text or a specific place must survive.
- Remakes use 720p by default; request 1080p only when you need it. A selected range is measured in whole seconds from its start, so a fractional range can be shortened.
- Original audio is retained when the reference has sound. A reference without sound receives generated sound in the remake.
- Every remake or revision uses credits. Avoid repeating an unchanged request; change the relevant plan, image, or shot range first.
